The Medicine Wheel is a pie shaped garden that is divided into twelve sections according to the zodiac chart. In each section there are medicinal and deer resistant perennials that are beneficial for you according to the astrological sign you were born under. The Medicine Wheel Garden was designed and installed by Paul Cardillo and Brian Hennessey in 2009. The next year, the Moon Garden was installed, which is a crescent shaped garden with white or silver flowers and foliage that appear to glow in the moonlight on summer nights. A unique and very effective Compost System was developed by Brian Hennessey and has been implemented on several area farms with great success. A video of Brian detailing the compost system is accessible on the link below.
If you are interested in volunteering with the Medicine Wheel group within the Heritage & Agriculture group, download and fill out a volunteer form from the Documents page. We are always in need of help weeding, planting, watering, and mowing plus volunteers are needed to help with the popular annual Medicine Wheel Benefit Garden Festival held in May.
